Riding.app is provided free of charge from Tennessee, United States. These terms are short because the deal is simple: use it sensibly, your content stays yours, and we make no promises we can't keep.
The service
Riding.app lets you plan a ride, check in along the way, and share the resulting map with others. The service is offered as is. We don't guarantee it will always be available, error-free or fit for any particular purpose. Never rely on it for safety, navigation or emergency communication.
It's free, and it may end
We may change, suspend or close the service at any time, with or without notice. Because the service is free, you agree that you have no claim against us for its interruption, modification or closure, or for any loss of data or content resulting from it. Download anything you want to keep; your photos are always available from your profile page.
Your content
You own the rights to the photos and text you upload, and you're responsible for them: only upload what you have the right to share, and nothing unlawful, hateful or harmful. By uploading, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to store, display, resize and process your content in order to run the service, including using photos to test and optimise the speed and accuracy of our processing.
Check-in data (positions, times, weather and derived statistics) is generated by the service. We may use it, in aggregated or anonymised form, to develop and improve the service. It is removed when you delete your account; anonymised statistics that can no longer be linked to you may be kept.
Your profile is public
Your profile page (riding.app/username) is visible to anyone on the internet, and so are the ride pages you share. By uploading a profile photo you acknowledge that it will be publicly visible. Use the privacy settings on rides and check-ins if you don't want something shown.
Usernames
Usernames are permanent while your account exists, because they form part of your shared links. We nevertheless reserve the right to reclaim a username for the service's own purposes. If we do, we will notify you and give you at least 30 days to choose a new one before the change takes effect.
Copyright complaints
If you believe content on Riding.app infringes your copyright, send a notice to the address on the Help page including: the work you claim is infringed, the URL of the content, your contact details, a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorised, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them. We remove infringing content promptly and may close the accounts of repeat infringers.
Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to enter into this agreement where you live, to use Riding.app. Keep your login details private. We may suspend or close any account that violates these terms, abuses the service, or harms other users or third parties. You may delete your account at any time from your profile page.
Paid features
If we introduce paid plans, an appendix to these terms will apply to paid accounts only. Free accounts remain governed by this page.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date at the top tells you when. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from the service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
